Eastwood Park

Wedding of Stephanie & Mitch

June 2023 • Eastwood Park, Gloucester

My day with Stephanie and Mitch began with a wonderfully intimate ceremony at the beautiful Poole Court, in Yate. The sun was out, the sky was (mostly!) blue, and their closest family and friends were in attendance to celebrate the day. Once outside, and after lots of confetti (you can never have too much!), we all headed over to their gorgeous reception venue – Eastwood Park in Wooten-Under-Edge.

Eastwood Park is a beautiful 19th century house set in the South Gloucester countryside on the edge of the Cotswolds, with gorgeous views over the Berkeley Vale. The staff here are super friendly and helpful, and nothing seems to be too much trouble to ensure that your day is nothing les than perfect. It’s clear why this is such a popular with so many couples, and Stephanie and Mitch are no exception! I’m also very proud to say that I have recently been made one of the venues recommended photographers.

After arriving in their bridal car, and being greeted by another flurry of confetti, it was time for the reception to start in earnest! The welcome drinks were flowing, and I set about capturing the group shots before taking the bride and groom aside for their first round of couple’s portraits. The sky wasn’t quite as clear as earlier in the day, but the clouds provided perfect soft natural lighting, along with a touch a drama!

It wasn’t long before more guests began to arrive, and everybody made their way inside for the speeches and cutting of the cake. The interior of Eastwood Park is as impressive as it’s exterior, and provided a gorgeous backdrop to the proceedings – large rooms, tall ceilings, grand fireplaces… it really makes you wonder how amazing it must have been to actually live here in it’s heyday.

After the speeches (with some particularly funny stories from the groomsmen!), it was almost time for Stephanie and Mitch’s first dance as husband and wife. After being introduced into the room and taking their positions on the floor, it was clear to see how special this day was to them, and they were soon joined on the dancefloor by their family and friends.

The clouds from the sky earlier had started to disperse, and we were treated to some wonderful evening summer sun. I took Stephanie and Mitch back out for a few more portraits to take advantage of those beautiful Golden Hour colours, and captured some absolutely gorgeous shots… even if I say so myself! As the evening drew in, and before my day with them was over, I bagged one last killer portrait with them in the main doorway of the house before making my farewells. I had a genuinely amazing day with these guys, and Eastwood Park is a fantastic venue that I can’t wait to get back to!
